Increase Your Online Conversion Rate With A Website Redesign

Ask any professional web development or SEO company and they will tell you that there are many ways to increase website conversion rates. The first step is to find out what the goal of the client is and figure out what type of “conversion” is important. We have worked with many clients through the process of figuring out their online conversion strategy and making it work for them.

One scenario we often run across is when the client already has a website but the site is not converting as much as they would like. We first review the website to look for visual conflicts or browser specific problems that would exclude users from viewing the message that the client is trying to portray. We will also look for positions of key elements on the website and calls to action. A call to action is very important on a website. It prompts the user to give a call, fill out a form, send an email or whatever the goal may be.

When we redesign a website, we always design with the user in mind. It is necessary to incorporate all of the features that the client has in mind for the website. Even more important is to make it easy for the user to convert to a goal for the website project. Another item we look for online conversions is the website hosting that the website is built on. We have run into cases where the client was running their website with an outfit that supplied cheap hosting. They were on a server with many other websites as well and the speed of the website suffered as a result. When their customers went to view their website, the pages would time out and the potential customer would leave the site and go to another competitor. Did they lose money? Oh yeah. We set them up with our business quality hosting, tweaked the website and they are now receiving inquiry after inquiry. So there are many items to consider when improving your website conversion rate.

Making sure our clients are getting a healthy ROI is something that we constantly strive for. We are always optimizing our website as well and researching what tactics work best. So if you have a website and you would like to increase its online conversion rate, get in touch with us and increase your ROI!

Missing Town and Businesses in Google Maps

A few days a go I received an email from a local chamber of commerce that a town that they work with is no longer showing up on Google Maps. None of the businesses show up and when you perform a search on Google for a business within that area, it will give you the closest location, but obviously not the one you are looking for.

This is not the first time that this has happened and I believe it comes from data getting indexed and going through the maps algorithms. How long will it take to get back up? Great question. The best way is to let Google know on their support forum. I have had very good experiences with Google getting back to me on questions and issues I have had problems with.

There is another blog posting that was in the email I received and it seems that they are trying to follow this and let it be known: https://blumenthals.com/blog/2010/03/17/google-maps-what-happens-when-you-loose-a-town/

So, the moral of the story is, “You get what you pay for”, but I would highly recommend if this happens to your city or town, to ask a question on the Google support forums and patiently work through the problem.

A Website for Your Customers

The main purpose of having a website is to provide information to those who aren’t familiar with your business or to provide more information to those who do business with you. We have come across many business owners who design the website with themselves in mind, not the customer. This poses as a problem with the goal to give information to the user in the format that they would like it in. So, the question comes down to, how would we build a website for our customers? Well, here is the information we would go through to make sure your clientele is getting the most from your website:

CONTACT INFORMATION

Make sure to have your contact information in each page. You have a much higher probability to close a sale for your business if customers give you a call. It is a sign that the customer is taking the necessary steps to accomplishing a goal of theirs.

LACK OF GRAMMAR/SPELLING MISTAKES

Nothing drives down credibility of a website faster than grammar and spelling errors. Make sure to go through your website content and correct any errors.

TESTIMONIALS/EXPERIENCE

Be sure to include testimonials on your website! A website built for your customers will have past customers’ stories about how your company did a fantastic job. Also be sure to include what types of experience you have in your particular field. Many customers search for this type of information to see how credible you are for their project.

YOUR COMPANY LOGO

A company logo can be a vital part of a customer’s recognition of your company. A company logo also portrays the level of professionalism that your company has. Making sure that your logo is set prominently on your website can be an important factor in elevating your customers trust.

ABOUT YOUR COMPANY

Having an “About Us” page on your website is another great way to tell customers who you are and what you have done in the past. We have talked to many businesses that love the fact that we are a small family based business. It is little subtleties like this that can have an impact in whether you get the sale or not.

Keep these factors in mind when thinking about what to put into your website. Customers have many reasons why they choose a particular company. It is your job to capitalize on what sets you apart from your competitors and how you can get their job done above their expectations. Also keep in mind that the website is for your customers. Keeping that in mind will help you determine what you should be including on your website.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and your website

Everyday, websites spring up all over the world. Many of these websites are not correctly optimized for the search engines. Search engine optimization is the process of making your website correctly display your information so that the search engines can read through your website content and deem it relative to an online searchers query.

Many small businesses today are just starting to realize the potential that search engine optimization can have on their businesses. Everyday more and more people are turning to search engines to conduct research on local and national topics, and the searches are very user specific. This is the main reason why the search engines are getting as much publicity as they are. It is almost impossible to pick up a publication and not read an article that mentions blogs, websites or search engines.

It is important to make sure that your investment in a website is used to its fullest. Investing in a company that offers search engine optimization can return many times over what was actually paid initially, and this is why optimization services are so popular. Our advice to all of our clients is to invest in their websites. Leave the optimizing to the professionals and have the tool work for you.

Internet Marketing 2021

Marketing your business in 2021 will more than likely have a spot for online expenditure. Marketing your business on the internet is one of the most effective forms of advertising that is available. Making sure that your internet marketing campaign is correctly implemented can be quite a task if you are not familiar with all of the options available. If you are not ready to take the plunge yourself, it will be to your benefit to seek out the help of a company that can set the campaign up correctly and have it working at optimal performance.

Easy first steps

In order to make sure your website is structured properly for the search engines, we recommend brainstorming all of the content and pages that you will be using for your website. This will enable you to get a birds-eye view of how your website will be structured. After the brainstorming is complete, group sections and pages together so the website is structured so a user can easily find relevant information to them. This is also known as a sitemap. The sitemap plays a key role in not only search engine optimization, but more importantly, in online conversions.

Create content

Next step is to create and put together content for the pages on your sitemap. We recommend that you have sections on each page for:

  • Title tag
  • Description tag
  • H1 tag

These tags help the search engine spider figure out what the page is about and help increase relevance for the search engine user. We also recommend writing articles about what your company has been up to, answers to common questions, etc. This is good for longer keyword phrases in the search engines as well as users who are looking for answers to questions on your website.

Test pay per click ads

We recommend setting aside a budget for a few months of pay per click ads. This can give you an idea what kind of money you may want to invest in the website later on. The ability to test how your website performs in front of interested searchers can give you valuable insight in budgeting for future earnings and search engine optimization.

Online video

If you have access to a video camera and some editing software, we also recommend giving online video a try. The search engines are always looking for users who have “value added” and online video is one of the ways this is accomplished. Make the video look as professional as you can, read online articles about good lighting, posture and how to edit video to save costs for you, as video can be extremely expensive.

Focus on important areas of your business

In rough times like these, it is important to focus on your customers. It is key to focus on money making activities and customer retention. Sometimes it is best to let a professional web design company handle the website, while you focus on your business. It may just help you keep customers and make more money which should be priority #1. Growing your business should also be an area of focus. The internet offers MANY opportunities for scooping up new clients and showing them how you are different and why they should go with your business. Focus on these two areas, client retention and growth, and you will see your business grow.
